My Reaction To Chapter 1

Jeannette has everything, but her mom doesn't. There is a big difference between mom and daughter. Jeannette's mom is happy in her life without having money. Jeannette is a girl who has everything in her life. She has wealth, but with having all those things she is still not happy and she thinks that her parents are poor, not healthy and truly need help. She is fretted about them. Jeanette was ashamed of her mother picking through the trash and she is very concerned about other people's opinion. She is trying to help them but they are not taking her help seriously. When she offers her help they wants silly stuff. 

In my opinion, her mom is trying to tell her that money is not everything in life and that her daughter should try to find happiness in her life without being a rich person.

    I agree completely - that is the mother's message in the first chapter. It will be interesting to see how, or if, your reaction changes after the second chapter. We'll learn how little Jeannette had as a child - not only in material things, but in emotional support as well.

Chapter 2 The relationship between Mom and Daughter. A good relationship between mother and daughter is something which is really expensive and everyone do not have it. Jeanette's parents did not take care of her. Mom let her 3 years old daughter to cook by herself and kept her hungry instead she was enjoying, singing and painting in the other room.  The Sterling Law Building     The sterling law building at Yale university was built in 1929. The main entrance of the Sterling Law Building with the date of construction etched into the stone. The Gothic Arches of Yale   If you look closely at the gothic arches of Yale Law School, you will find many figures symbolic of the justice system. There are a police officer apprehending a suspect, a convict in stripes, and there is a judge sentencing a criminal. The Architect James Gamble Roger Architect James Gamble Rogers chose five symbolic stone figures to portray some of the participants of the legal process. A bulldog as a lawyer is one of these figures, located high atop the gable ends of the auditorium near the corner of High and Grove Street.
