Skull and Bones 

Skull and Bones, also known as The Order, Order 322, or The Brotherhood of Death, is a secret graduate

student society at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The oldest upperclassmen society on

campus, Skull and Bones has become a cultural institution known for its powerful alumni and various

conspiracy theories. 


The first comprehensive description of the skull and bones, published in 1871 by Lyman Begin 4 years at Yale, noted that "the mystery of its existence constitutes one great mystery that academic gossip never

ceases to discuss." is happening." 8] Brooks Mather attributes the general interest in Yale's senior societies

to the fact that underclassmen who were then in freshman, sophomore, and freshman societies returned to

campus and could learn about the society's traditions. do, while seniors graduate with their knowledge. In

between, at least one step is removed from campus life.


The number "322" appears on the Skull and Bones inscription and is widely reported as the year of the

death of the important Greek orator Demosthenes. Correspondence between early members of the society

in the Yale archives indicates that 322 refers to 322 BC, and that its members measure dates from this year

rather than the common era. In 322 BC, the Lamian War ended with the death of Demosthenes, and the

Athenians dissolved their government and replaced it with a plutocracy, in which only those with 2,000 or

fewer could survive. . Documents dated "Ano Demosthenes" were found in the tomb.

When I saw the Skull and Bones building, I felt kind of excited and interesting. Because this building had no windows. It was like a prison. I think the building will be dark inside and scary.

Observatory and Planetarium of Yale

  The Yale University Observatory, also known as the Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium, is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Yale University, and maintained for student use.  Yale's first observatory, the Athenium, was founded in 1830, situated in a tower. From 1830 it housed Yale's first refractor, a 5-inch (130 mm) Dollond donated by Sheldon Clark. It was the largest in the United States at the time. With this telescope Olmsted and Elias Loomis made the first American sighting of the return of Halley’s Comet on 31 August 1835. (It had been seen in Europe on 6 August, but no news of this had reached the United States.) The telescope was mounted on casters and moved from window to window, but it could not reach altitudes much over 30 deg above the horizon.  The Sterling Law Building     The sterling law building at Yale university was built in 1929. The main entrance of the Sterling Law Building with the date of construction etched into the stone. The Gothic Arches of Yale   If you look closely at the gothic arches of Yale Law School, you will find many figures symbolic of the justice system. There are a police officer apprehending a suspect, a convict in stripes, and there is a judge sentencing a criminal. The Architect James Gamble Roger Architect James Gamble Rogers chose five symbolic stone figures to portray some of the participants of the legal process. A bulldog as a lawyer is one of these figures, located high atop the gable ends of the auditorium near the corner of High and Grove Street.
